Our Technology

Every tool we use at Americas Family Dental has a specific job: to make your care more accurate, more comfortable, and easier to understand. Here is what we use and what it means for your experience in the chair.

iTero Digital Scanner

Traditional dental impressions meant biting down on a tray of thick putty and holding still while it set. For patients with a strong gag reflex or dental anxiety, that process could make an already uncomfortable visit worse.

The iTero scanner replaces that entirely. A small wand moves gently around your mouth and captures thousands of data points to build a precise 3D model of your teeth in minutes. No trays, no mess, no waiting.

What that means for you:

  • A more comfortable experience. No impression material means no gagging, no discomfort, and no holding an awkward position.
  • A treatment plan you can actually see. For Invisalign, iTero generates a simulation of your projected outcome before you commit to a single aligner. You see where your smile is headed before treatment begins.
  • Greater accuracy. A digital scan captures detail that traditional impressions can miss, which means better-fitting restorations and fewer adjustments down the road.
  • Faster turnaround. Digital files are sent to the lab immediately, which shortens the time between your appointment and your finished result.

Digital X-rays

X-rays are one of the most important diagnostic tools in dentistry. They let us see what a visual exam cannot, including decay between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and issues developing beneath existing restorations.

Our digital X-ray system improves on traditional film in ways that matter directly to you:

  • Significantly lower radiation exposure. Digital X-rays emit up to 90 percent less radiation than conventional film X-rays.
  • Instant results. Images appear on screen within seconds, which means your dentist can walk you through findings during your appointment rather than after.
  • Clearer images for clearer conversations. High-resolution digital images are easier to zoom in on and explain, so you can see exactly what your dentist sees.
  • Stored securely in your patient file. Your X-rays are available at every visit, making it easy to track changes in your oral health over time.

3D Digital Impressions

Beyond Invisalign planning, our digital impression technology supports a range of restorative treatments, including crowns, bridges, and other custom dental appliances. The same benefits apply across all of them: no putty, no discomfort, and a more precise fit for whatever is being made. When the fit is right the first time, you spend less time in follow-up appointments and more time enjoying the results.
